J. Matheson Gifts, Kitchen & Gourmet in Everett offers cooking classes in its state-of-the-art cooking school. Classes range from beginning cooking to expert level instruction and are presented by both local chefs and chefs from well-known Four Star restaurants.

Participants receive a 15% discount on
regularly-priced merchandise (excluding electrics and cooking classes) the day of the class.

Cooking classes are also available for private groups such as parties, bridal showers, or business functions. Classes can be tailored to meet your needs. Call or stop by J. Matheson Kitchen & Gourmet for more information, 425.258.4589.

Refund Policy for Cooking Classes:
Cancellation of a registration more than 72 hours in advance of a class entitles you to a full refund. Or you may receive credit toward attending a future class…date selected at the time of your class cancellation. Another option is to send someone in your place (please notify J. Matheson Kitchen & Gourmet if someone is taking your place in the class.) There are no refunds or transfers less than 72 hours notice.

Oyster Adventure

From traditional presentations of fried, stewed & on the 1/2 shell to adventures with Oysters rockefeller, benedict, gumbo, blue jean hash, & the grand finale of ono w/ fried oysters w/ lobster curry sauce. Featuring fresh oysters from Taylor seafoods in Bow, WA. and tons of facts and info about oysters.

The Romance of Wine and Chocolate

Enjoy wine and chocolate pairings to enhance your Valentine’s Day celebration! Chocolate has long been considered an aphrodisiac since the Aztec’s time. The ancient Greeks and Romans considered wine to be the nectar of the gods. So how can you not spark some romance with the combination of the two! You will learn how to taste and describe wine, obtain food and wine pairing techniques, plus master the art of chocolate tasting. This class is taught by Marja Murray, who is a certified Sommelier and holds a Gastronomy certificate from Le Cordon Bleu, Paris.

Pressure Cooking Beans and Legumes

Incorporate these healthy/economical dishes into your 2010 diets. We will be demonstrating and tasting two quick and easy recipes (needs no pre-soaking Truly!). From the mideast everyone's favorite appetizer, Hummus made from freshly cooked chick peas and from south of the border the wonderful flavor of a Black Bean Tortilla Stew. Pressured for time and concerned about food budgets? check out this class. Get those pressure cookers back out of the cupboard and into use.
